You may have noticed that, throughout our website, we have made many references to the respiratory protective equipment company Core Protection Systems, also known as ‘Corpro’. And you may be wondering how The Filter Design Company and Corpro are linked.
Our Managing Director and Co-Founder, Phil Scott, can be classified as an expert in the field of respiratory protective equipment (RPE). He has worked within the filtration industry for around 40 years, with much of his experience being in the design and manufacture of filtration systems for RPE including APRs (air purifying respirators), PAPRs (powered air purifying respirators) and SARs (supplied air respirators).
Phil Scott began a joint venture with a business partner around four years ago. There was a desire to develop a high-quality range of tight-fitting respirators and filters which put the user first and were highly comfortable, protective and easy to maintain. Following product development, testing and approvals, Core Protection Systems was born and the brand’s HM1400 half mask, FFM1600 full face mask and F1100 filter range were launched at the A+A Health and Safety exhibition in 2019.

Fast-forward to 2020, and a lot has changed. Following growth within the industrial and medical markets, and during the global COVID-19 pandemic, our owners Phil Scott and June Scott completed a management buy out of Core Protection Systems. Corpro is now under the full ownership and management of Phil and June, and both The Filter Design Company and Corpro have much of the same dedicated team members and are hosted at the same site in St Helens, England.

Corpro and The Filter Design Company are two separate businesses with different offerings, but both deliver highly effective products which focus on user protection and both benefit from the expertise and experience within our team. The COVID-19 pandemic has reiterated the importance of clean air for all, and both businesses are here to provide customers with piece-of-mind and confidence when they need it most.
